THE TEAM

The Project Pond team is a growing line-up of individuals from various disciplines and backgrounds. We take pride in our patient and meticulous approach in selecting more team members in taking care that their own personal lives are integrated with the organization's vision and have the ability to empathize and therefore synergistically work with our participants. 

Directors

Fiel John Meria

A life coach, study coach and special education teacher who graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2009. He took up a total of  42 units MA in Special Education at the University of the Philippines though did not complete the degree.  He has been in practice for the past 9 years for teens and adults diagnosed with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disabilities & giftedness. He served as an advocate for and was the past Vice-President of the ADHD Society of the Philippines, and was a board member from 2013-2016. He's worked with various schools and ministries including The Study Center (formerly Mind Matters Christian Academy) and CCF Unique Special Needs ministry. Prior to his work in special education he’s held a myriad of jobs including magician, all-around writer & travel specialist. He himself is diagnosed with combined-type ADHD and has a younger brother, recently graduated college, diagnosed with high functioning autism. He's also the author of two children's books about pet care entitled "Fish Be With You" and "Some Bunny to Love" released by St. Matthew's Publishing under the Kahel Press imprint.

He's a happy husband to Julz and a proud father to Jordyn. His interests include animal care / breeding, scuba diving, public speaking, close-up magic, martial arts and uses every background he has in his mission to bring the love of Jesus Christ to those who have neurodevelopmental difficulties. 

Julienne Nido-Meria, OTRP

A licensed occupational therapist who graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 2009. She formerly worked with MedMom Child Development Clinic as a Senior OT, having worked there for 5 years and Shine Special Education Center for 7 years, specializing in various pediatric cases of autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, global developmental delay and traumatic brain injuries. She is also a feeding specialist having trained in Singapore and Malaysia. In her ministry work  with CCF she  founded the Collab Sessions for allied medical professions who work in intervention, a trainer for CCF Unique Special Needs ministry and a facilitator for Glorious Hope, a program that does spiritual intervention for deep-seated issues among its participants. She is diagnosed with inattentive-type ADHD

 

Her interests include traveling, watersports such as surfing, photography and video editing.

Safety Officers (Travel Program)

Ren Meria, PTRP

A licensed physical therapist who graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 2014 and now handles various cases of those who have physical intervention needs, including neurodevelopmental cases such as autism and cerebral palsy. He is involved with the Unique Special Needs ministry of CCF where he facilitated for “A Night to Shine”, a prom for those diagnosed with various conditions sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. His interests include travel and music and is an avid guitar player.

Joanne Margaret Querubin, OT

A mother to Yuan, a teen with Cerebral Palsy Athetoid type and an advocate for families who have PWD members. A graduate of Emilio Aguinaldo College, she is a licensed occupational therapist both locally and in the US, and placed 2nd in the Philippine Occupational Licensure Examination in 2005.  She has been an active member of CCF since 2013 being involved in ministries related to her profession such as the Collab Sessions and Unique Special Needs ministries where she facilitated for "A Night to Shine: Prom for People with Special Needs" where her son was also participant. She trained in dysphagia evaluation at the University of the Philippines-Manila in 2008. She worked at the Philippine Children's Medical Center as a clinical training supervisor and therapist from 2005-2010 and is now currently a consultant at Great Redeemer Accelerated Christian Education, Inc. where she specializes in individuals with various neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Sheena Peña

A graduate from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2010 with a degree in AB Psychology, she is currently a social media specialist for GMA Network Inc., a travel specialist for Experience Philippines and a professional standup comedienne. She is a public speaking champion in the humorous category for Toastmasters Philippines. 

 

Sheena’s hobbies include travelling, wall climbing, photography, and is also an advocate for those with neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Jez Lucas

Jez is a Creative Writing graduate from the Ateneo de Manila University, a Philippine Regulatory Commission-Licensed Teacher, and is currently taking his graduate studies in Special Education at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He worked as an English teacher for several years while doing research, writing, hosting and SpEd work on the side. Shortly after his life at the academe, he shifted careers and pursued civil service in the government sector. He spent two years under the Planning Service office of the Office of the President of the Philippines – National Anti-Poverty Commission, moved forward to be the speech writer of one of the Cabinet Secretaries of the President, and—following the change in the Administration—eventually shifted to the Department of Education – Central Office as a Senior Education Program Specialist. Throughout his working life, Jez has been a travel blogger and has strived hard to achieve work-life balance by exploring the different corners of the Philippines—one vacation leave at a time.
